Privacy Policy
Effective July 17, 2026
Informed Research, LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates informedresearch.com and a research participant panel. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By joining our panel or participating in a study, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
We collect information in three ways.
- Information you give us when you sign up. Your name, email address, ZIP code, and availability.
- Information you give us during screening and studies. Your answers to screening questionnaires, which may include demographic information, your occupation, your household details, and your opinions and experiences. If you participate in a study, we collect what you say and write during the session.
- Identity verification and citizenship. When you enroll, you confirm that you are a United States citizen and provide a photo of a government-issued ID so we can verify your identity and prevent duplicate or fraudulent profiles. You may cover the ID number before submitting it. ID photos are used only for verification, are never shared with clients, and are deleted once your identity is verified. At session check-in we briefly confirm on camera that you match the ID you provided, and that check is not recorded.
- Payment information. The details needed to pay you for completed studies, such as your Venmo or PayPal handle.
Our website uses only the cookies necessary for it to function. We do not use advertising trackers.
2. Session recordings
Research sessions are typically recorded on video and audio, and written studies are saved in full. We will tell you before any session that it is being recorded. Recordings and transcripts are part of the research deliverable and are handled as described in Section 4.
3. How we use your information
- To decide which studies you may qualify for and to invite you to them.
- To schedule sessions and communicate with you about studies.
- To conduct the research itself and prepare research findings.
- To pay you and keep required payment and tax records.
- To operate, secure, and improve our panel and website.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we never sell your personal information.
4. How we share your information
- With our clients. Our research is commissioned by confidential clients, which may include businesses, law firms, consultants, and other organizations. Clients receive research materials such as recordings, transcripts, your session responses, and relevant screening answers. Where practical we share these on a first-name or coded basis, but you should assume the client can see and hear you in recorded sessions.
- With service providers. Vendors who help us run the panel, host video sessions, process payments, and store data, under obligations to protect your information.
- When required. If a law, regulation, court order, or legal process requires it, or to protect our rights, our participants, or others.
- In a business transfer. If our business is sold or reorganized, your information may transfer as part of that transaction under this policy.
We do not reveal the identity of the client who commissioned a study, and clients agree to use research materials for research and related professional purposes only.
5. How long we keep information
We keep panel profiles for as long as you remain a member of the panel. We keep study materials, including recordings and transcripts, for as long as needed for the research engagement and any related professional obligations of our clients, and then delete or de-identify them. Payment and tax records are kept as long as the law requires.
6. Your choices and rights
- Leaving the panel. You may leave at any time by emailing recruiting@informedresearch.com. We will stop contacting you and delete your panel profile.
- Declining anything. You may decline any invitation, any question, or any study at any point.
- Access and correction. You may ask us what personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct or delete it. Depending on your state of residence, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws, and we will honor requests as those laws require. Note that recordings of completed group sessions may not be deletable because they contain other participants and are part of a completed research record.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address above. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including limiting access to study materials to people who need them. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Age requirement
Our panel and studies are for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn we have, we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date above and notify active panel members by email before the changes take effect.
